BIR Assessment: D.o.A. na ba? Is there an issue with your BIR LoA?
What to check before you fight. You will learn to read your own Letter of Authority (LoA) and draft a protest grounded in the decisions of the Supreme Court and the Court of Tax Appeals. Bring your LoA. You leave with your protest.

The LoA comes first. The assessment comes after.
Validity of the LoA
Who signed it, when it was served, which Revenue Officer is named. The three questions that get a Final Assessment Notice (FAN) cancelled.
New RO, old LoA
Your audit was handed to another Revenue Officer (RO) without a new LoA. What the Supreme Court said in Medicard, McDonald’s and Sony.
The timeline
The Notice of Discrepancy (NOD), Preliminary Assessment Notice (PAN), Formal Letter of Demand (FLD) and Final Decision on Disputed Assessment (FDDA). How many days you have at each stage, and how late the LoA issue can still be raised.
Your protest
You draft a protest to your own LoA during the session and take the template home for your business, your family or yourself.
